These are supposed to “monitor car traffic”, but is that what they really do?
These cameras have been up for a while, but they just recently added a new batch of cameras! These new ones seem to be doing more than just monitoring traffic...
We decided to investigate. First, we went down to the DMV to ask for more information about these cameras. We had to go back home though, as the line would have taken 48 hours, and we simply aren’t payed enough to do that.
So we decided to what we had to do. We went undercover!
We first went through DMV training which took 24 seconds of them giving us our employee number and then saying “Good luck” in a not so reassuring voice.
While undercover, we found that an external company called Beroosma (a Ukrainian based company, in the sticker making business) was the company that initiated the sale of these cameras.
Of course that doesn’t seem fishy at all, totally not the KGB. We investigated further, and discovered a wire in the cameras! Someone was broadcasting the footage to an off site location!
We weren’t sure how to track this, but we eventually found a guy named Гавриил (or Gavriil) he seemed very trust worthy. He said he could take us to the exact location they were broadcasting the footage to.
For some reason we can’t remember the rest. All I remember was waking up to the police rescuing us, as we were floating in my car down the river.
We seem to have lost all of our money too...
We unfortunately couldn’t find much, but we should be careful around these cameras. It might not be the KGB, but you know they’ll use them for more than just “traffic control”.
