This year, however, kids in Hamilton decided to protest the Dad Tax by simply not going Trick 'r Treating. We interviewed some of the children participating in the protest. One child said, “I’m ok with him taking the candy corn, nobody likes that, but he took my Snickers Bar! Then Mom took a Reece’s Cup!” Another protestor we interviewed said, “We have to show them we won’t stand for this anymore! We won’t Trick 'r Treat if the Dad Tax is applied.” Another said, “These taxes keep getting higher each year, It’s all cause of spooky nook!”
